Sting to the rescue! If you like avoiding the mainstream but love playing a good old fashioned platformer, then this difficult to find little game is well worth the effort it takes to track down. It's pretty much a straight knock off of platformers like Sonic, but it does so with charm, personality, and bags of entertainment. The story revolves around the adventures of a little blue hedgehog (Sonic's sister perhaps?) and finds her travelling through an array of colorful environments, although it's not entirely clear why this should be necessary. In classic platform fashion, she runs around, leaps a bit and dashes at the many enemies which litter her path. In similar style to the Kirby games, you can absorb the power of defeated enemies which comes in handy during later stages, while you can also throw rocks at the bad guys a la Super Mario Bros 2. There are also Sonic-style springboards and the environments you travel through are your standard cutesy platformer-type levels. Adventures of Sting is certainly not shy about where it gets its inspiration from but while this criminal lack of originality has killed many other games in the past, here it seems to work to its advantage and actually results in a curiously enjoyable little title. The game gets off to a great start with its lush visuals which are just bursting with color and personality and with some lovely environments to discover. The controls are easy to pick up, while the platforming itself is largely entertaining and although not overly challenging, maybe this isn't such a big deal. All in all, something of a forgotten gem.

Gates of Skeldal is a dungeon crawler with a rather unique graphical style and originally only released for the Czech market. The game has never been officially released in English but has been translated by fans as a result of crowd-funding. Now it is available on both Android and iOS. The game was originally released with map editor enabling players to create their own dungeons and maps.

V2000 is a 3D space shooter based on the '80s game Virus. Aliens are using a virus to corrupt and possess many creatures from different worlds by opening up links between the worlds they are trying to conquer. From many of these links emerged the hives. The usual mission objectives in the game are to destroy the mutated creatures and the hives, rescue local inhabitants, while "beaming up" weapon upgrades along the way. Players are then awarded "trophies" for each world saved or if it is saved quickly. These trophies allow the player to receive new ships.

Animaniacs: Ten Pin Alley is a wacky take on the world of bowling. It includes ten different Animaniacs characters, including Yakko, Wakko, Dot and the Warner Brothers (and sister). The game features tons of new modes, taking off from the original Ten Pin Alley game for the PlayStation. There is a tournament mode, a team up mode, kids mode, and the typical exhibition mode, also known as open play. A2 Racer II again allows you to race on the well known Dutch A-2 highway. But also race tracks have been set out through 3 major Dutch cities: Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Den Haag (the Hague). Like in the original you join illegal street races. There are six stages in the game. The first stage takes place in Amsterdam, the second on the A-2 towards Den Haag, the third in Den Haag itself, the fourth on the road to Rotterdam, the fifth in Rotterdam, and the last from Rotterdam past Utrecht back to Amsterdam. Each city has been carefully recreated in a completely new and improved 3D engine. Racing is made difficult by the police who try to block you by setting up blockades or pushing you off the road. Each time you get caught you get a ticket and lose time. With the third ticket you are out of the race. The game doesn't have a visible damage system, but if you get into too severe a crash you are also out of the race.
Pitfall 3D is a 3D platformer in which players guide Pitfall Harry Jr. (the original Pitfall! hero's son, voiced by B-movie king Bruce Campbell) through a wide variety of settings, ranging from the South American jungle to the ruins of the Moku civilization that lie behind a dimensional rift. Some old obstacles and enemies appear, such as tar pits that can open up beneath Harry and swallow him whole, ever-present scorpions, and old favorites like rolling logs and handy vines, which can be found smattered around the jungle. But there are new dangers as well, including the sinister flying darters, and new wonders to behold, such as gravity-defying lucense. Harry Jr. gets by much the same way his father did -- he can dodge out of the way, jump over obstacles, and take a swing at attackers with his trusty pick-axe. The object is to guide Harry Jr. through 11 levels, trying to discover what happened to the Moku civilization, and finally into a confrontation with the mighty Scourge, who's holding this alternate dimension hostage. Oh, and Harry might want to grab some treasure along the way too -- just like dear old Dad.

Psygnosis hits back with Formula 1 98 not only providing a new game engine and features but also developer Visual Science. Formula 1 98 also sports a real 1998 FIA licences insuring real tracks, cars, racers, teams, more detailed statistics and other F1 lifelike aspects. Visually Visual Science have managed to tweak field depth and reduce pop up while providing the same detailed, fast visuals the first two were known for. Players also witness the action from a new cockpit view with realistic driver head animation and new particle effects have been added to heighten realism and crash effects. Also check out startling commentary now not only with famous English commentators but also other languages provide real commentators, certainly a good option for those who prefer non-English commentary. Cars are also modelled upon 1998 versions with greater attention to detail and advertising while all tracks have been greatly improved likewise. The Interface now features a track map in arcade mode while existing car dynamics and control have been tweaked in simulation mode to appear more realistic than ever. Formula 1 98's new pit features have also been added including animated pit crew, penalties and Wipeout style pit stops in arcade mode. Psygnosis have also incorporated a new arcade challenge mode while many of the game's existing features such as modes, options and general features have been retained.
