It is based on The Lone Ranger radio and TV franchise, the latter which was still rerunning in syndication when the game was released. The player takes the role of the Lone Ranger himself as he engages against outlaws in side-scrolling, overhead, and even first-person segments. Vice: Project Doom is a side-scrolling platformer similar to the Ninja Gaiden series for the NES, with the addition of gun shooting and driving segments as well. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero is a 1991 run and gun game published by Taxan for the Nintendo Entertainment System based on the toyline of the same name. The game was produced by Ken Lobb and developed by the same Japanese team that later formed KID. A sequel developed by the same team, titled G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor, was released the following year, but was published by Capcom after Taxan went out of business.

Final Fantasy IV (ファイナルファンタジーIV, Fainaru Fantajī Fō), known as Final Fantasy II for its initial North American release (and not to be confused with the original Japanese Final Fantasy II), is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Released in 1991, it is the fourth main installment of the Final Fantasy series. The game's story follows Cecil, a dark knight, as he tries to prevent the sorcerer Golbez from seizing powerful crystals and destroying the world. He is joined on this quest by a frequently changing group of allies. Final Fantasy IV introduced innovations that became staples of the Final Fantasy series and role-playing games in general. Its "Active Time Battle" system was used in five subsequent Final Fantasy games, and unlike prior games in the series, IV gave each character their own unchangeable character class. Final Fantasy IV has been ported to several other platforms with varying differences. An enhanced remake, also called Final Fantasy IV, with 3D graphics was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007 and 2008. The game was re-titled Final Fantasy II during its initial release outside Japan as the original Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III had not been released outside Japan at the time. All later localizations, which began to appear after Final Fantasy VII (released worldwide under that title), used the original title. With its character-driven plot, use of new technologies, and critically acclaimed score by Nobuo Uematsu, Final Fantasy IV is regarded as a landmark of the series and of the role-playing genre. A decent platform game that's identical to Titus' earlier The Fox: From Here for Marakech, except that you are now controlling Moktar, a plump Arabian adventurer similar to Nintendo's popular Mario. Nothing is wrong with the game-- it just feels like a rehash of many different platform games that's been done before, and better. If you like The Fox or any other Titus' action games, you'll probably like this one. If you're looking for a creative platform games without repetitive levels, play Disney's or Infogrames' games instead.

Dick Tracy, released in February 1991 for the Sega Genesis and Master System, was a side-scrolling arcade game where players control the famous hero through various stages to bring down Big Boy. Tracy can walk, jump, duck, shoot a pistol, and use a Tommy gun to hit enemies and objects in the background. Each level had a series of sub-levels to it and bonus points awarded if the players could avoid hitting any of the various objects in the background; i.e., windows, fire hydrants, and street lights. One of the levels switches the action up slightly by having control Tracy during a police chase. Several of the villains from the comic book appear, and the final battle with Big Boy takes place in a scene similar to the climax of the feature film.

Catacomb II from 1991 (later renamed The Catacomb for retail release in 1993) is the sequel to the original Catacomb (1990) and predecessor to Catacomb 3D (1991). Featuring much the same gameplay as its predecessor, it mostly builds on it with an extended 30 level campaign. It also adds the ability to save the player's current level position within nine save slots. Catacomb II does not change the game principle of its predecessor. Still, players explore the ruins from a top-down perspective, use their magical powers to fight enemies, and discover hidden passages. Petton Everhail, the most powerful magician in the world is hired to recover an enormous treasure buried deep beneath the ruins of the Kieralon Palace. However, the path to the treasure chamber is long and confusing and guarded by evil monsters such as goblins, skeletons, and worse.

Based on the Disney cartoon Talespin. Baloo's airline cargo company, Higher for Hire, makes deliveries all around the world. The air pirates, lead by the daring Don Karnage have increased their attacks against air travel. In order to foil the plans of the pirates, Baloo trades in his normal plane for a "Mini Sea Duck", designed to fly more maneuverably.To get his cargo delivered on time, Baloo must fly over many dangerous areas, and also pick up any cargo stolen or scattered by the air pirates. Eventually, the fortress of the air pirates themselves must be destroyed for air travel to remain safe and profitable. Talespin is a side-scrolling shooter, moving left to right across the screen. The Mini-Seaduck can fire projectiles and switch direction, flying right-to-left while upside-down. The money you make from recovery of these cargo items can be used to purchase upgrades at the end of each level from Wildcat, the mechanic. Many strange boss creatures and devices will guard the final areas of most levels.
