Bob Parr, známy jako Mr. Úžasný, býval jedním z největších světových super hrdinů a zachraňování světa bylo jeho denním chlebem. Svůj super oblek musel pověsit na hřebík přes patnácti lety. Teď pracuje jako odhadce škod pro pojišťovnu a bojuje s nudou a rostoucím břichem. Se svojí manželkou (bývalou Elastiženou) a třemi dětmi se pokoušejí žít normální život.
