Talentovaný kocour Danny chce udělat štěstí u filmu, avšak jeho cíl stát se filmovou hvězdou je ohrožen, když zjišťuje, že velké role v Hollywoodu dostávají pouze lidé. Na filmovém plátně mohou totiž zvířata pouze štěkat, mňoukat nebo bučet, ale rozhodně ne tančit. Danny si nachází nové přátele, kterými jsou rozpustilý hroch, půvabná kočička a roztomilý tučňák.
