Na cestě za splněním svého snu ji sice podporuje otec Wilbur (Christopher Walken), ale Tracy musí překonat řadu překážek, které nesouvisejí jen s jejími tělesnými proporcemi: počáteční odpor své podobně tělnaté matky Edny (John Travolta) nebo nenávist televizní producentky Velmy (Michelle Pfeiffer) a její protěžované dcery.
