Mistr bojového umění Spinjitzu stvořil pomocí čtyř elementárních zbrani říši Ninjango. Když mistr zemřel, jeho dva synové přísahali, že říši a její mocné zbraně ochrání. Starší z bratrů, Lord Garmadon, však chtěl zbraně získat pouze pro sebe. Proto mezi ním a jeho bratrem, Sensual Wu, vypukla válka. Lord Garmadon byl poražen a vyhnán do podsvětí. Do země Ninjago se vrátil mír a Sensual Wu mocné zbraně dobře ukryl. Po dlouhý letech se však Lord Garmadon vrací zpět a je silnější než kdy předtím. S pomocí armády kostlivců je rozhodnut zbraně vyhledat a říši Ninjago zničit. Sensei Wu chce s pomocí čtyř cvičených bojovníků zbraně ochránit. Podaří se jim Lorda Garmadona zastavit a zachránit říši Ninjago?
