Mladá zdravotní sestra nastupuje na směnu ve staré městské nemocnici. Po podivném zjevení jí jedna z nejstarších sester řekne, že do nemocnice před několika lety vstoupil pacient, pan Moore. Jeho tělo bylo po požáru zcela spálené. Lékaři pana Moora naléhavě operovali. Nikdo mu však nechtěl pomoci. Bolest a léky ho dohnaly k šílenství... Jednou v noci šla jedna ze sester do jeho pokoje, ale postel byla prázdná... Už o něm nebylo nic slyšet. Příběh přeruší zvonek. Volání přichází z pokoje pana Moora...
