Years after the Great War, the Voltaris are threatening to return to the world of Ardonia, and only Thalleous is preparing for an attack. He brings the clanless Senn on his journey, who gets a much different adventure than he ever could have planned for. Meanwhile, two thieves, Jalkar and Grim, have stolen the Enderdragon egg from Etherea. Abbigail, a nearby farmer, tracks down and hunts these two thieves.
