Filmová klasika, která se stala senzací na Broadwayi, se nyní vrací na stříbrné plátno jako filmový muzikál. Dvojnásobní držitelé ceny Tony Nathan Lane a Matthew Broderick se vrací do svých rolí Maxe Bialystocka a Lea Blooma - intrikářského divadelního producenta a jeho zakřiknutého účetního, kteří společně vymyslí bezchybný plán, jak zpronevěřit ve svůj prospěch velké množství peněz: chtějí získat vysoký rozpočet, vyprodukovat pomocí jeho zlomku levný broadwayský propadák a poté shrábnout celý rozdíl - protože žádný z investorů nebude předpokládat, že se mu nějaké peníze vrátí.
