Od doby, co obyvatelé Elm Street dopují své děti potlačovací snů, je Freddy Krueger zoufalý. Touží po zabíjení, ale nemá možnost se v něm uplatnit. Proto vymyslí zákeřný plán. Skrz vize staré ženy přiláká do svého teritoria jejího syna, masakristu Jasona Voorheese, který dokáže vraždit i mimo snovou realitu. Jeho plán však zaskřípe, když Jason odhalí Freddyho manipulativní úmysly a pekelně se na něj naštve. Na scéně se pochopitelně objeví i několik teenagerů, kteří budou usilovat o zničení obou masových vrahů. Komediální-hororový 'crossover' dvou slavných hororových sérií, který vydělal v USA jen za první víkend promítání 36 milionů dolarů.
