Film se odehrává v době londýnské punckrockové revoluce 70. let a sleduje vzpurné počátky nechvalně proslulé módní darebačky, Cruelly de Vil. Mladá, chytrá a kreativní podvodnice Estella je odhodlaná se prosadit ve světě módy. Spřátelí se s dvojicí mladých zlodějů, kteří oceňují její zálibu v rošťárnách. Jednoho dne se Estelle podaří zaujmout pozornost ohromně šik a děsivě haute módní legendy, baronky von Hellman. Jejich vztah však uvádí do pohybu souhrn událostí a odhalení.
