Čas znovu nalezený, adaptace Proustova Hledání ztraceného času, má střídmější formu, než bychom u vynalézavého Ruize, zvláště se znalostí výše zmíněných filmů, očekávali, ale i v této věrně zfilmované literární klasice občas prosákne snová atmosféra, magie obrazu, především v záběrech se samotným Proustem, jehož jako by hrál Marcel Proust sám. Píše se rok 1922, spisovatel je upoután na lůžko, probírá se starými fotografiemi a kolem něho se dávají do pohybu velké detaily věcí, které jej obklopují... a s nimi příběhy Odetty, Albertiny, Gilberty...
