Film vypráví úsměvný příběh z dob, kdy bylo ještě veškeré letectví v plenkách. Piloti byli považováni za blázny. Letadla měla prapodivné tvary. Když náhle se zrodil v hlavě jednoho anglického boháče nápad uspořádat závod letadel z Anglie do Francie. Přihlásili se do něj letci z celé planety (např. Anglie, Amerika, Francie, Německo, Itálie, Japonsko…). Přes různé počáteční nesnáze, vzájemné nepřátelství některých národů, naschvály, popichování a nesportovní jednání byl závod zahájen. Pro Američana a Angličana však nezačal jen ten ve vzduchu, ale i o srdce jedné dámy. Kdo však vyhraje závod ze všech přihlášených národů? Kdo získá její srdce? Velmi podařená komedie, kterou si nesmíte nechat ujít.
