Poté, co se Angel vrátil ze Sunnydale, kde pomohl přemožitelce, se Buffy objevila v Los Angeles. Při jejich rozhovoru jsou napadeni silným démonem. Po střetu a smíchání Angelovy a útočníkovy krve se z Angela stane opět člověk. S Buffy prožijí úžasné chvíle, ale bývalý upír si uvědomí, že jako smrtelník nemůže odrazit blížící se apokalypsu.
