Ichabod Crane is a young schoolmaster from Connecticut now living in Sleepy Hollow, a settlement in New York State notorious for rumours of ghostly visitations, especially from the infamous Headless Horseman. The Headless Horseman faces off with Ichabod Crane in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," a ghost story of enduring popularity that takes place at the time of the American Revolution. Pred dvadsiatimi rokmi Michael Baigent patril k trojici autorov, ktorí prekvapili svet kontroverznou teóriou v knihe Svätá krv a svätý grál, podľa ktorej Ježiš Kristus a Mária Magdaléna založili posvätný rodokmeň. Po dvoch desiatkach rokov ďalšieho skúmania zverejnil Baigent nové výbušné zistenia spochybňujúce skoro všetko, čo vieme o Ježišovi. Napríklad tvrdí, že o jeho smrti neexistujú dôkazy a doklady naznačujú, že nezomrel na kríži. Podľa autora si Ježiš neželal, aby ho uctievali ako boha a aby z nejakého oficiálneho súboru jeho výrokov vzniklo náboženstvo. Hovorí, že v Ježišovom učení ide o to, aby každý človek mal možnosť vydať sa do Sveta mŕtvych, do nebeského kráľovstva, aby sa osobne stretol s Bohom a dal sa ovplyvniť Božím posolstvom. Baigentove úvahy i polemiky so storočia trvajúcimi predstavami o zrode a poslaní kresťanstva určite podnietia nové diskusie, čo je pre kritického čitateľa dobrá správa. Zaujímavé sú aj autorove informácie o súčasnom obchode so starobylými písomnosťami zo súkromných zbierok.
