“High & Low: The Story of S.W.O.R.D. Season 1" introduces the SWORD area, a town controlled by five young gang factions: Sannoh Rengokai (Hoodlum Squad), White Rascals, Oya Koukou (Oya High School), Rude Boys, and Daruma Ikka. The initials of these gangs form "S.W.O.R.D.". The series follows the conflict between these SWORD gangs and the yakuza organization, the Kuryu Group, who attempts to take control of the area with the help of groups like the Mighty Warriors.
